Barki Terms of Service

Welcome to Barki. These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Barki website at barki.app and the Barki mobile application (collectively, the "Services"), both operated by Barki Pet Grooming ("Barki," "we," "us," or "our").
By accessing or using the Services, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Services.
1. Use of the Barki Website and Mobile App
The Services are provided to help you learn about Barki, book grooming appointments, manage your pet profiles, and stay connected with our salon. You agree to use the Services only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms.
You agree not to:
- Use the Services in any way that violates applicable local, state, or federal laws or regulations.
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the Services or related systems.
- Transmit any harmful, offensive, or disruptive content through the Services.
- Reverse-engineer, decompile, or otherwise attempt to extract the source code of the Barki app.
- Use the Services for any commercial purpose not expressly permitted by Barki.
2. Appointment Booking
Appointments are booked through the Barki mobile app or our website, powered by DaySmart. By booking an appointment, you agree to:
- Provide accurate and complete information about yourself and your pet, including any relevant health conditions, behavioral concerns, or grooming history.
- Ensure your pet is current on required vaccinations as requested by the salon.
- Arrive at or before your scheduled appointment time. Late arrivals may result in a shortened service or the need to reschedule.
- Notify us promptly if you need to cancel or reschedule.
3. Customer Responsibilities
As a Barki customer, you are responsible for:
- Disclosing any known health conditions, allergies, sensitivities, behavioral issues, or prior grooming difficulties that could affect the safety or outcome of a grooming session.
- Ensuring your pet is reasonably manageable for grooming. Barki reserves the right to stop or modify a service if a pet becomes distressed, aggressive, or poses a safety risk to staff or other animals.
- Understanding that grooming may reveal pre-existing conditions such as skin irritation, parasites, lumps, or matting. Barki will notify you of any concerns observed during the appointment, but we are not a veterinary service and cannot diagnose or treat medical conditions.
- Keeping your account information accurate and up to date.
4. Pet Care and Grooming Service Limitations
Barki takes every precaution to ensure the safety and comfort of your pet. However, please be aware of the following limitations:
- Grooming involves handling, bathing, and equipment that some animals may find stressful. Barki's groomers are trained in gentle handling, but all animals react differently.
- Severely matted coats may require shaving down close to the skin to prevent discomfort or skin damage. We will advise you when this is necessary.
- Senior pets, pets with health conditions, or pets with anxiety may have limited tolerance for grooming. We reserve the right to shorten or pause a service in the best interest of your pet.
- Barki is not responsible for pre-existing conditions that become apparent during grooming, including but not limited to skin conditions, ear infections, or matting-related skin issues discovered under the coat.
- We are not a veterinary clinic. Any concerns about your pet's health should be directed to a licensed veterinarian.
5. Payments
All payments for Barki grooming services are processed through DaySmart, our third-party appointment and payment platform. By providing payment information, you authorize DaySmart to process the payment for services rendered.
- Prices listed on the Barki website and app are starting prices and may vary based on your pet's size, coat condition, temperament, and selected services or add-ons.
- Final pricing will be confirmed at the time of service or booking.
- Barki does not store your full payment card details. Please review DaySmart's terms and privacy policy for information on how payment data is handled.
6. Cancellations and Rescheduling
We understand that plans change. To help our team plan accordingly, we ask that you:
- Cancel or reschedule appointments at least 24 hours in advance whenever possible.
- Contact us by phone at (980) 263-2999 or through the Barki app to make changes to your appointment.
Repeated no-shows or late cancellations may result in restrictions on future booking at Barki's discretion.
7. Account Usage
If you create an account through the Barki mobile app, you are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. You agree to:
- Provide accurate and truthful information during account creation.
- Notify us immediately if you suspect unauthorized access to your account.
- Not share your account with others or create accounts on behalf of another person without authorization.
Barki reserves the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.
8. Intellectual Property
All content on the Barki website and app — including text, images, logos, and design — is owned by or licensed to Barki Pet Grooming and is protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from any Barki content without our prior written consent.
9. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Barki Pet Grooming, its owners, employees, and affiliates shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Services or from grooming services rendered, including but not limited to:
- Stress-related reactions in pets during or after grooming.
- Pre-existing health conditions identified or aggravated during grooming.
- Interruption, delay, or cancellation of service due to circumstances beyond our control.
- Errors or interruptions in the Barki website or mobile app.
Our total liability to you for any claim arising from the Services shall not exceed the amount paid by you for the specific service giving rise to the claim.
10. Disclaimer of Warranties
The Services are provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. Barki does not warrant that the website or app will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of viruses or other harmful components.
11. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time to reflect changes in our Services, legal requirements, or business practices. When we make changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Your continued use of the Services after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms. We encourage you to review these Terms periodically.
12. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of North Carolina, without regard to its conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising under these Terms shall be resolved in the appropriate courts located in Mecklenburg County, North Carolina.
